Welcome
"A group of schools working in partnership to provide access to a range of activities and services within the local community to improve achievements and life chances for all"
Welcome to the HarpendenPlus Partnership website, based around the Harpenden, Kimpton, Redbourn and Wheathampstead areas.
The local Partnership aims to provide a range of activities and services that allows both schools and the community to benefit from a wider and broader access to learning and life.
What is a local Partnership?
A Partnership is a cluster of schools, ranging in number and covering early years provision (including children's centres), special status schools, JMI schools and Secondary schools.
It is designed to meet the diverse needs of parents and children in the schools and local community through a wide range of activities, events and training opportunities. Every Child Matters is a set of reforms supported by the Children Act 2004. Its aim is for every child, whatever their background or circumstances, to have the support they need to :
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic well-being
This means every Local Authority working with its partners and through local partnerships needs to find out what works best for children and young people in its area and act on it. For more information go to www.education.gov.uk
